We are a multi-disciplinary sports medicine clinic which includes Physical Therapists and Athletic Trainers. We are located in Blue Hill and Ellsworth Maine. We strive to prevent injuries from occurring, evaluate, assess and manage injuries when they do occur and provide wellness initiatives to help people thrive through movement.

We believe in whole-person healthcare driven by evidence and patient-centered care. We believe in providing equitable care for all people who want to be active. We want to prevent injuries, if possible, through fundamental screening programs, rehabilitate injuries using evidence-based practice and goal setting, and improve performance and efficiency in movement so people will enjoy exercising.

If you want to move better and pain free, you are an athlete.
If you were injured during exercise, or something is preventing you from exercising, then Variable Movement is where you want to be!
Do I need a Referral?
You do not need a referral to see a physical therapist or an athletic trainer.
Here at Variable Movement, we often co-treat patients with other providers in the Blue Hill and Ellsworth area including Physicians, Physical Therapists, Chiropractors, Massage Therapists, and Acupuncturists!
Do you take insurance?
Dr Casey DOES ACCEPT MEDICARE. We are not partnered with Medicare Part B. If you would like Physical Therapy services with Dr. Casey, you will need a referral from a physician and your Medicare Card!

We do not directly bill third party private insurance companies.
We can give you a "super bill" which allows you to submit to your insurance company.

Both Dr. Dan and Dr. Casey are considered "direct access" providers in the state of Maine. If you want to submit to insurance companies and work with Dr. Dan, you will need a referral from a physician, nurse practitioner, or chiropractor.
