We are a multi-disciplinary sports medicine clinic which includes Physical Therapists and Athletic Trainers. We strive to prevent injuries from occurring, evaluate, assess and manage injuries when they do occur and provide wellness initiatives to help people thrive through movement.
We believe in whole-person healthcare driven by evidence and patient-centered care. We believe in providing equitable care for all people who want to be active. We want to prevent injuries, if possible, through fundamental screening programs, rehabilitate injuries using evidence-based practice and goal setting, and improve performance and efficiency in movement so people will enjoy exercising.
What is A Sports Medicine Clinic?
Sports Medicine providers are those who specialize in human movement, and getting you to perform at your best.
Every provider at Variable Movement is passionate about learning about your physical goals and helping you achieve whatever goal you set out to do.
but i am not an 'athlete'
If you want to move better and pain free, you are an athlete.
If you were injured during exercise, or something is preventing you from exercising, then Variable Movement is where you want to be!
Do I need a Referral?
You do not need a referral to see a physical therapist or an athletic trainer.
Here at Variable Movement, we often co-treat patients with other providers in the area including Physicians, Physical Therapists, Chiropractors, Massage Therapists, and Acupuncturists!
Do you take insurance?
We do not directly bill insurance companies.
We can give you a "super bill" which allows you to submit to your insurance company.
Both Dr. Dan and Dr. Casey are considered "direct access" providers in the state of Maine. If you want to submit to insurance companies and work with Dr. Dan, you will need a referral from a physician, nurse practitioner, or chiropractor.
